Sahith Theegala slipped down the leaderboard at the Farmers Insurance Open after a one-over 73 in the third round at Torrey Pines.
The Indian-American, who opened with rounds of 66 and 69, is now eight-under and tied 20th with one round remaining. Playing the demanding South Course, Theegala mixed three birdies with four bogeys and was unable to keep pace as the leaders pulled away.
Justin Rose remained in complete control at the top, stretching his advantage to six shots after a four-under 68. Rose moved to 21-under 195, setting a new 54-hole tournament record and bettering the previous mark from his 2019 win.
Joel Dahmen climbed into second at 15-under after another 68. The American is playing on conditional status this season and is using the week as an early opportunity to secure valuable FedExCup points.
Among other players of Indian origin, Akshay Bhatia missed the cut after rounds of 76 and 69, while Indo-Canadian Sudarshan Yellamaraju is tied 45th after a third-round 71.
Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA TOUR continued with a frustrating putting day. He missed six putts inside five feet and signed for a 73.
