Jhared Hack stuns field with record 59 to win SECL Chhattisgarh Open on debut

Jhared Hack announced himself in spectacular fashion on the DP World PGTI, producing a dream debut with a five-shot victory at the season-opening SECL Chhattisgarh Open in Naya Raipur.

The American Qualifying School graduate fired a blistering final-round 10-under 59 — the lowest score ever recorded at Fairway Golf & Lake Resort — to finish at a remarkable 30-under 246. Hack’s winning total also set a new tournament record, improving on last year’s mark of 27-under 249.

Hack, runner-up at last week’s DP World PGTI Qualifying School, began Sunday one shot off the lead but quickly turned the tournament into a rout. Despite an opening bogey, the Las Vegas-based professional surged with birdies and an eagle on the front nine before exploding on the back.

The decisive moment came at the par-4 12th, where Hack drove the green and converted eagle. He added five more birdies, powered by sharp wedge play and short-range chances, to pull clear of the field.

Twenty-one-year-old Anshul Kabthiyal posted his best career finish, closing with a bogey-free 65 to take second at 25-under 251. Overnight co-leader Honey Baisoya slipped to third at 23-under 253.

Teenager Kartik Singh (64), Kshitij Naveed Kaul (63) and former PGTI No. 1 Veer Ahlawat (65) shared fourth at 22-under, while early leader Akshay Sharma finished tied seventh.

Hack credited guidance from friends Dominic Piccirillo and Koichiro Sato, both PGTI regulars, as he embraced his first week competing in India.

With a course record, a tournament record, and a runaway win, Hack’s arrival on the DP World PGTI could hardly have been louder.
